Founder, e-MERGE Mentorship Program
“Nancy has been a member of the e-MERGE Program, a STEM based mentorship program designed to merge the importance of STEM literacy with leadership development and community service, since middle school. As a middle schooler, Nancy and her family relocated to the Tri-cities from California. Even at such a transitional time in her life, she sought out ways to get involved in programs that would help her to build roots in her new home state. She specifically requested to join e-MERGE to utilize leadership skills that she had already been developing in California. And she has definitely used them to our benefit. Nancy is one of our student-leaders and is admired by younger girls. She is a consistent participant and routinely offers her perspectives – perspectives which provide insight and guidance to help build our girls’ confidence. I expect to see her go very far in life – as she is self-motivated. It’s one of her strongest qualities. I look forward to watching her continued growth as a young leader and am honored to do whatever I can help to her reach her full potential!”
The Washington STEM Rising Star Awards encourage girls to embrace STEM education and to explore the use of STEM in ways that will support their education, career, and personal development and the development and needs of others.
