Each year, we present this award to members of the Washington State Legislature who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership by advancing legislation and policies that promote access, innovation, and equity in STEM education, early care and education, and career pathways.

This is our 6th annual Legislator of the Year Award. And, the second time we’ve had the pleasure of acknowledging the commitment and vision of Representative Dave Paul!

As chair of the House Postsecondary & Workforce Education Committee, Representative Paul has long championed efforts to support students as they transition from high school to postsecondary education. In 2025, he sponsored House Bill 1273, which expands access to CTE dual credit and ensures those credits count meaningfully for students. The bill passed unanimously.
